Absolute beginners saxophone course

If you’ve never played the saxophone before, this course is designed to take you right from the very beginning and give you a really solid foundation.

Across 8 in-depth videos and more than 5½ hours of tuition, I’ll show you everything you need to get started properly — from setting up the saxophone and producing your first sound, through to playing all 12 major scales, understanding chords and chord tones, exploring minor scales, the Cycle of Fifths, reading music and even beginning to improvise.

You’ll also learn three complete tunes, including Summertime and And I Love Her, and play them along with backing tracks.

The course includes:

• Over 5½ hours of step-by-step video tuition
• All 12 major scales
• How to work out major scales for yourself
• Chords and chord tones
• An introduction to minor scales
• The Cycle of Fifths
• High and low saxophone notes
• Reading music basics
• An introduction to improvisation
• Three complete tunes
• Backing tracks to play along with
• PDF lesson guides and additional downloadable resources

I’ve designed the course so that you don’t just learn where to put your fingers — you begin to understand how music works, develop your ear and start playing real music as quickly as possible.
Whether you’re completely new to the saxophone or you’ve recently started and feel that there are gaps in your understanding, this course will give you a structured path to follow and plenty to practise along the way.
